Matthew grew up on the Northeast coast of Florida enjoying life on the water in Jacksonville Beach. He kept busy fishing, surfing, and diving as much as possible, playing baseball until he ‘retired’ at the ripe old age of 22. He then turned his sights on going to sea and traveling the world. Matt’s years on the field helped him to develop a great “team player” attitude, one that serves him well now that he is a part of a close crew.
Matt has been working in the yachting industry for several years, and his first yacht had a very busy charter schedule where he learned the ropes as a deckhand and soon worked his way up to Bosun over two years later. Matt has worked on several boats and traveled many thousands of miles, from the beautiful blue waters of the Caribbean to the turquoise flats of the Bahamas, and up to New England where he spent summers eating lobster rolls and clam cakes. A summer cruising in Alaska allowed him to explore much of British Columbia and up and down the West Coast of Central America, where he spent time learning just a few words of Spanish.
Matt is very familiar with M/Y Harle and has “pinch hit” for several crew members while they were on holiday. Matt is thrilled to be the first officer onboard M/Y Harle, and the crew is equally thrilled to have him be a part of the team. Matt looks forward to making memories of a lifetime for guests.
